It’s cold today. Let’s talk about how to better charge new energy vehicles and do winter inspection and maintenance of charging piles in winter.
The Great Cold is the last of the twenty-four solar terms. After the Great Cold, spring comes again, ushering in a new year of solar terms. The New Year's Eve falls around the beginning of spring, and the New Year's atmosphere becomes more intense as the Great Cold approaches. The New Year is approaching, and there are still rain, snow, and cold weather in various places. Today, let’s talk about how to better charge new energy vehicles and perform winter inspection and maintenance of charging piles in winter.

New energy vehicle charging reminder
01
Extend the charging time. In winter, the power battery of new energy vehicles has poor charging acceptance, which can easily lead to undercharging and insufficient power. It is necessary to extend the daily charging time. When car owners are planning a trip, remember to fully consider the reduced cruising range of the vehicle to avoid affecting their travel.
02
"Warm up" the car before driving. Winter temperatures in the north are often below 0°C, and vehicles park for a long time at low temperatures. When car owners use their cars, it is best to wait 1-2 minutes after powering on to allow the vehicle's circuit and battery pack to warm up for a while. This can extend the service life of the vehicle's battery as much as possible.
03
Charge in time after using the car. In winter, you should charge in time after using the car to ensure that the remaining power of the car is between 20% and 90%. When using the car, the battery power cannot be completely used up. If the battery is drained, it may cause damage to the new energy vehicle battery. Every time car owners are driving, if they find that the remaining power is about to be less than 20%, they should stop and charge in time.
04
If a new energy vehicle is not driven for a long time, it should be charged regularly. If a new energy vehicle is idle for a long time, it should be fully charged before parking to avoid leaving the car battery in a depleted state. When the battery is in a depleted state, the battery pack is prone to chemical reactions, causing the battery capacity to decrease. Therefore, remember to charge your car regularly when it is idle.
Winter maintenance and inspection of charging piles
01
The charging pile body is equipped with a protective device to prevent frost and ice after rain, especially to protect the charging connector from damage due to water freezing and frost. At the same time, it prevents stains and undesirable objects from blocking the charging pile connector port.
02
Freezing and snowy weather will affect the components in the charging pile, and low temperature will affect the charging speed. It is necessary to check the electrical components of the charging pile in bad weather and replace them in time if they are damaged.
03
During winter operation, the charging pile can be kept activated at all times. The heat generated by the charging pile itself can ensure the normal operation and extend the service life of the charging pile.
04
Check the incoming cables, internal cables and charging gun connection cables of the charging pile. If aging occurs at low temperatures, they should be repaired and replaced in time.
05
In extremely cold weather, power should be cut off promptly and corresponding protective measures should be taken.
